3. Mushroom vs toadstool

A toadstool has a roundish cap atop a stalk and it is inedible. The mushroom takes on a dome shape and the other side of the cap is the gills. It is edible. For this reason, edible fungi are often referred to as mushrooms, while toxic mushrooms are called toadstools.
