12. Make hot and cold compresses.
When applied as compresses, heat and cold both have incredible effects: they can alleviate cramps, and muscle pain, improve blood circulation, soothe bruises, and relieve other pains. It is perfectly possible to use potatoes as hot and cold compresses.
You can soothe a bruise by applying some cold potato to it. Just make sure you cover it with gauze. The potato’s ability to retain heat will make the hot compress last longer if it’s baked or boiled.
